Overview

This workshop integrates the Science of Early Child Development and the Nurturing Care Framework. It is intended to support policy makers to deepen their understanding of the science supporting early childhood development, reflect on the status of child development in their contexts, and realize the importance of investing in young children and families through their policies and budgets. At the end of the workshop, participants are expected to come up with multi-sectoral action plans for advancing nurturing care in their county or country.

Format

This workshop features presentations, videos, interactive discussions, critical reflections and group work usually by sector. There are multiple options based on availability of time and resources:

  • 2-3 hour orientation for high level government officials
  • 2-3 day in-person workshop for high-and mid-level officials
  • 2 hour virtual/blended learning workshop

Eligibility

The workshop targets policy makers, government officials, and decision-makers at the national and sub-national levels. Depending on the context, each workshop brings together decision-makers from various sectors that are critical to ECD, including health, nutrition, education, protection, water and sanitation, agriculture and finance.
